Caelan Doris has pledged to keep improving after inking a new three-year deal with Leinster.
The back row has spent his entire professional career with the club, making 72 appearances since his debut in 2018.
He has now extended his contract until 2027 and insists that he is yet to fulfil his full potential, despite being named the Irish players’ player of the season.
Doris said: “I am delighted to sign this contract extension and look forward to continuing my journey at home in Ireland with Leinster over the coming seasons.
“It has been a dream come true to play in ambitious environments at club and international levels and I believe that the best is yet to come, both for me personally and as a collective.
“I am hugely excited about what the future has to offer and would like to thank all those who have helped me in my career to date.”
Doris has already won the Pro 14 title on four occasions with Leinster, the most recent of which came in 2021.
On top of that, Doris has won 36 caps for Ireland since making his debut against Scotland in 2020.
That international career has gone from strength to strength, and includes winning the Six Nations Grand Slam last year.
This autumn, he was also named in the World Cup team of the year following his starring performances as Andy Farrell’s side reached the quarter-finals before losing to eventual runners-up New Zealand.
IRFU High Performance Director David Nucifora said: “We are delighted that Caelan has signed this new deal.
“Since making his debut for Ireland three years ago, Caelan has proved himself as a world-class performer.
“Today’s announcement is testament to his growing reputation and high standing both here in Ireland and internationally.
“Caelan is a leader who has displayed a consistently high level of performance and I have no doubt that he will aim to reach higher levels in the coming years.”
