During the holiday season, the Canadiens are always on the road. It’s the team that asks for such a trip in late December/early January.
Historically, this trip has been very difficult, but in 2023-2024, things look different (so far). Indeed, the team has collected five points out of a possible six, thanks to wins in Winnipeg and Chicago and an overtime loss in Minnesota.
Martin St-Louis’ team will be back in action on Thursday, when they travel to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes. They’ll be looking to build on their excellent season abroad.
Montreal is no Los Angeles, with a record of 13-1-1 on the road, but the club is getting the job done away from home. With a record of 8-4-3, the Habs rank eighth in the NHL for efficiency on opposing rinks. The team has 26 road games and 23 home games between now and the end of the season.

If we push the analysis further, the Habs are one of two teams with a positive record abroad, but a negative record at home (7-9-2).
The Devils are also part of the equation. The TVA Sports article mentions that Los Angeles has a negative home record, but that’s not true.
6-6-3 isn’t spectacular, but it’s still a .500 record.

Unlike the Devils and Habs, the Kings are in the playoff picture.
They can say thank you to the fans of the other teams, because obviously, their fans don’t aspire to confidence.
Fortunately for Montreal, they’ll be playing their next four games away from home. It all starts in Carolina. Next, the boys will head to Florida to take on the Panthers and the Lightning.
Finally, they’ll end their longest trip of the season in Dallas.
