Babajide Sanwo-Olu Governor of Lagos State has appointed grassroots youth mobiliser, Alabi Opeyemi Oladimeji as his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Youths Development and Mobilisation.
This was contained in a statement issued by Bode Olabisi, for the Lagos State Government through the Office of the Head of Service on Thursday.
Oladimeji popularly know as ‘Small but mighty’, is a young politician with substantial followers in his constituency and across the state.
“I wish to convey the approval of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, of your appointment as the Senior Special Assistant (Youth Mobilisation) to Governor.
“This appointment takes effect from November 24, 2023 to May 21, 2027.
“In appointing you, the State Government expects you to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence, and selflessness in the discharge of your duties to justify the confidence and trust reposed in you.”
Alabi, speaking with the press at the Lagos State government Secretariat, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for believing in him and entrusting him with this significant task.
He pledged to do everything possible to unite Lagos youths and enhance the state’s image.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) urged all stakeholders and Lagos youths to collaborate with him in maintaining Lagos as the top centre of excellence in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
Oladimeji holds a BSc degree and a National Diploma certificate in Computer Science, boasting over 5 years of solid experience in IT.
His expertise spans Web/Mobile Application Development, Computer Engineering, and Network/System administration, among other areas.
Beyond his IT career, Alabi has been a key figure in various youth-oriented political and social initiatives in Lagos and across Nigeria.
He founded the Defend Lagos Movement: established in 2020 to safeguard Lagos culture and heritage during the ENDSARS crisis, which supported the government of Sanwo-Olu.
Oladimeji championed the Occupy Progressive Lagos Youth Summit which was among the largest youth summits in Lagos, held at Blue Roof LTV 8, Ikeja among several others.
In 2022, Oladimeji contested as the APC national youth leader at the National convention.
He had served as a Youth Liaison Officer to Temitope Adewale, a member of the Lagos State Assembly representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01.
