“I Cried, Man”: Deion Sanders Gets Emotional Reflecting on a Young African-American’s Struggles in Chilly Colorado
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Imagine a scenario when it’s snowing outside and you’re inside your home beside a warm and cozy fireplace sipping on a hot mug of chocolate tea! In such scenes, do you ever think about the less fortunate who need to carry on with life despite the harsh weather? Amidst the chilly Colorado temperature, Coach Prime Deion Sanders just made a warm gesture!

Colorado just hit the extreme on January 15 with a snowstorm that led to several road closures. With the temperature consistently at 0° to minus degrees, Coach Prime just had to embrace the weather, given that he signed up for this when he became the Buffs HC. So now, he’s trying to brighten things up with a stepfather anecdote.

In a recent upload by Thee Pregame Show on YouTube, Coach Prime was seen working out when he suddenly seemed to recall an event that happened on his way to his workout session. He recalled driving through the snow when he saw a “young African-American gentleman” walking in the snowfall in Colorado’s -2° weather. “It’s hard, I poured out dawg,” Coach Prime said emotionally. “I cried, man.”

According to what Coach Prime recalled, the young Buffs fan was walking in the abominable weather to the bus stop to get to his job. Despite his dreary situation, he was excited to meet his idol Coach Prime who dropped him off at the bus stop. Deion Sanders may come off as a tough man but deep down, he has a high level of empathy for the less fortunate. He became sentimental as he pondered on life saying, “You never know what somebody’s going through. We take things for granted man.”

Coach Prime has something to say about Colorado’s cold weather

Colorado seems to get colder and colder each year and Coach Prime’s second season in Boulder had him say something interesting about the snow. On January 13, the 56-year-old posted a video and a couple of photos on IG and captioned, “Lord I Believe I love snow now.” He also tried to keep things on a light note as he shared about his stepfather in a writeup saying, “Why when I walk it sound like my Step Daddy Eating Frosted Flakes.”

If you can’t beat them, join them. It looks like Deion Sanders had to pull himself to adapt to Colorado’s extreme weather conditions. After all, he’s stuck here so he might as well embrace the cold. But his presence in Colorado with him going around doing good things for the needy is a blessing to many, particularly for people like the young man above.
