Add another record to Caitlin Clark’s illustrious resume.
On Thursday, a 2022 Bowman University Superfractor Caitlin Clark Rookie Auto card sold for $78,000 in the January Premier Auction at PWCC Marketplace after bidding was extended over an hour past the original closing time, breaking the record for a women’s basketball card. The only female athlete who has ever had a higher-selling trading card is Serena Williams.

🏆 RECORD AUCTION 🏆
The Caitlin Clark 1/1 Superfractor auto is now bidding at $66,000.
Clark has officially moved into SECOND PLACE ALL-TIME as the woman with the most expensive sports card sale.

“Topps did not pull any punches on the flip side, rattling off a list of surreal accomplishments in Clark’s Iowa career,” a description for the card stated. “With three USA Women’s Basketball team gold medals already hanging from her shelf, this Bowman U card reminds fans the fearless point guard is on her way to stacking Michael Jordan-like hardware.”
The previous record for a women’s basketball card was a 2004 Ultra Platinum Medallion Diana Taurasi card that sold for $11,500 earlier this year. A few months before that, New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu’s 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA Black Gold rookie card sold for $10,800, marking the first time a women’s basketball card was sold for five figures in an auction.
The reigning women’s National Player of the Year, Clark has already enjoyed one of the greatest careers in college basketball history. The Iowa star became the Big Ten’s career assists leader this season, and she’s fewer than 200 points away from breaking Kelsey Plum’s NCAA scoring record.
As Clark tries to lead the No. 5 Hawkeyes (18-2) to a national championship and likely goes on to become the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, it’s clear that the value of her trading cards will only continue to rise.
