There are plenty of resources you need to add to your inventory early on in Enshrouded, but few are more important than Torn Cloth. While it might not seem like a priority, this single material can make your life much easier in Embervale.
Torn Cloth is one of the main ingredients in the crafting recipe for a Crude Mattress, among other recipes. The Crude Mattress allows you to go to sleep and pass the night away, which lets you keep working during the day when it’s light out. Unfortunately, the path to getting Torn Cloth isn’t too clear in Enshrouded, so you can follow the guide below to see exactly how to acquire the resource.
Finding Torn Cloth in Enshrouded
Torn Cloth is mostly earned by one specific method in Enshrouded, and it cruelly only takes place at night. So, basically, to make sure you can sleep during the night, you need to venture out into the darkness to get the resources you need.
More specifically, you can find Torn Cloth by killing the blue Fell enemies in the Shroud regions of the map. The Shroud regions are indicated by the blue and murky parts of Embervale and your HUD will update to reflect once you’re fully in the Shroud. You can find some early Shroud regions right near where you start off in Enshrouded, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find some of the Fell enemies.
Once you do, all you need to do is kill the Fell and they should have a decent chance to drop Torn Cloth. In addition to that method, you can also destroy barrels, open chests, and search wagons/tents to find Torn Cloth as well. While these methods aren’t nearly as reliable as killing Shroud enemies, they have produced Torn Cloth for me in Enshrouded from time to time.
After you get enough Torn Cloth, head back to your base, make a Crude Mattress, and sleep the night away in Embervale.
