A few hours after a fire incident was reported around City Stadium in Nairobi county, another inferno has broken out in Kitengela, Kajiado.

Fire in Kitengela
According to the Red Cross, the fire incident in Kitengela occurred near the National Bank.
“Another fire incident has been reported in Kitengela near the National Bank in Kajiado county. Response teams are currently at the scene, addressing the situation,” read an X post by the Red Cross.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire had engulfed several buildings, and it is feared that many traders have already lost their businesses.
The Nairobi fire incident affected Jua Kali traders whose stalls adjoin the City Stadium at the roundabout.
Nairobi city fire engines were deployed at the scene of the inferno to contain the fire and help the traders salvage some of their properties
So far, there have been no reports of casualties from the Kitengela fire incident.
Traffic disruptions are expected in the coming hours as security is heightened at the scene of the incident.
A possible evacuation of nearby buildings could be embraced, according to Crisis 24. Several banks are in close proximity to the fire incident.
The two incidents have put Nairobi firefighting departments on the spot, with some Kenyans expressing no confidence in how the response team reacted.
“Nairobi has no capacity to fight fire. There are two big fires within the metropolis, and it’s chaotic through and through,” Saddique Shaban posted on X.
It was yet to be known what caused the fires in City Stadium and Kitengela by the time this article was published.
