Just about 5 months after signing the new contract, Hamilton is once again rumored to be linked to Ferrari. Many would remember all the efforts Ferrari put in 2023 to poach Hamilton away from Mercedes. The Scuderia has put the past aside and is rumored to have presented Hamilton a new contract.

Midway through the 2023 season, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes announced the contract extension of the 7X champion. This 2-year contract extension (1+1) would see Hamilton race with Mercedes until the end of 2025. Last year, Forbes reported Lewis Hamilton’s salary to be $55 Million. However, before signing the contract, the paddock was filled with rumors of Ferrari’s interest in Hamilton.

Ferrari is believed to have contacted Lewis Hamilton multiple times over the last year to try and lure him away from Mercedes. Frederic Vasseur and John Elkann, the Ferrari Chairman, were rumored to have contacted the 7X champ personally. Yet Hamilton politely declined all the offers, one of which was supposedly worth $49M a year.
But despite Hamilton signing a new contract, Ferrari didn’t give up on the Briton. Formu1a.uno revealed that Ferrari is still pursuing the 7X champ and has presented him with a new contract. This contract will see Hamilton join the Scuderia from 2025 onwards, racing alongside Charles Leclerc. It was also suggested that if all things go as planned, the announcement of Hamilton to Ferrari will be made officially in the coming days.
And if it does happen, it will leave Carlos Sainz looking for another team. The 2025 season will for sure become a Frenzy for the driver market. Speaking of that, Will Buxton also Tweeted a cryptic message earlier today which makes sense after the Hamilton-Ferrari rumors have surfaced.

The 2025 season is going to be a silly season for the driver market, at least that was the case before Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc’s contract extensions were confirmed. Will Buxton posted a tweet regarding how the silly season will be over if the contract extensions are announced at this rate. He did however reply to his own tweet to advise that a huge announcement might be on the way.

The Tweet read, “Hearing a big announcement is on the way before the end of the week. If it is what I think it is, it’s absolutely massive.” Soon after this tweet, Formu1a.uno revealed the Hamilton Ferrari rumors. One could only think that Will Buxton’s tweet was referring to the 7X champ signing for Ferrari. And that’s not all. many others have also commented on this rumor, suggesting the high possibility of the transfer.
