Season 7 Release Date

My Hero Academia Season 7 is set to air on May 4, 2024. The Season 6 finale, which aired March 23, 2023, teased the events of the seventh season, with Toho Animation saying it had already entered production and gave it a Spring 2024 release window. The anime company later announced the May 2024 release date at Jump Festa 2024 in December.

It was also confirmed that the fourth My Hero Academia movie will be arriving sometime in summer 2024.

Returning Characters and Voice Cast

Though not everyone is confirmed to reprise their roles in My Hero Academia Season 7, the latest trailer Toho Animation shared on YouTube during Jump Festa 24 gave us an idea of which characters are coming back and who’s voicing them. With that in mind, below is the list of MHA characters that are confirmed to appear in the upcoming season and the English and Japanese voice actors assigned to them.

Season 7 Story Details

The plot for My Hero Academia Season 7 (trailer) will pick up exactly where Season 6 left off, with America’s No. 1 Hero Star and Stripe arriving in Japan to help Deku and his friends fight All For One per All Might’s request for foreign aid. Afterwards, the season will have an arc involving a member of Class 1-A betraying the heroes, and Deku dealing with information leaking out that will put everyone at risk.

Where Season 6 Left Off

In Season 6, which IGN deemed in our review as “the best it’s been since Season 3” Deku and the rest of his class team up with the Pro Heroes to fight against the Paranormal Liberation Front and the League of Villains. Despite stopping the group’s advance, the city still suffered mass casualties on both the hero and civilian side, and the villains succeeded in breaking All For One out of prison.

Deku, believing that the mass destruction caused by the Paranormal Liberation is his fault because they along with All For One are after his Quirk, leaves U.A. High to protect his classmates and go on solo missions as a vigilante a la Batman. Eventually, his friends and teachers, even Bakugo, manage to get him out of his depressive funk and back to school, where he returns to his normal optimistic self.

Meanwhile, All Might, still a retired hero, attempts to join in the battle against All For One more than once. Realizing that he can’t fight alone, he calls on the United Nations for help, leading to the arrival of Star and Stripe, a hero from America with the same color palette as All Might’s glorious costume.
