Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources
The Saudi industry boasts a robust reputation, characterized by an exceptionally high level of commitment across its various sectors, Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, told Al Arabiya TV.
Alkhorayef emphasized that manufacturers in the Kingdom strictly adhere to stringent standards in terms of quality, safety, health, and environment. Any product carrying the “Made in Saudi Arabia” label must conform to these high standards, he added.
It is the ministry’s duty to safeguard the industry’s reputation, preventing any negative impact on the Kingdom’s image by investors, the Minister emphasized, noting that the level of empowerment for the industrial sector in the Kingdom aligns closely with its aspirations.
On the sidelines of inaugurating the MODON Oasis project in Jeddah, Alkhorayef mentioned that the project aims to open a new path for certain industries and investors. The focus is on attracting small investors, entrepreneurs as well as emerging and clean industries, besides modern technologies, with a commitment to empowering women.
This project started with around 92 operational, ready-built factories, with additional factories are in the works, including those in partnership with the private sector. Two sites are being developed in collaboration with private companies to accelerate development, alleviate burdens on the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), and facilitate the rapid operation of factories, he added.
On Feb. 29, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated the MODON Oasis in Jeddah. The project spans 3.3 million square meters of developed areas and includes 86 industrial, investment, and logistical contracts, according to data compiled by Argaam.
