We have several pre-orders for newly unveiled devices to cover this week, some regular discounts and deals on Sony headphones – let’s go.
The Oppo F25 Pro was announced on Thursday, a local version of the Reno11 F. It has a 32MP selfie camera (with 4K video recording) in its 6.7” 120Hz AMOLED display (FHD+, 10-bit). It runs ColorOS 14 on a Dimensity 7050 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage (expandable via microSD). The 5,000mAh battery supports 67W fast charging. Open sales start on March 4.
The Realme 12+ was announced on the same day with the same Dimensity 7050 chip and same 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging. This one has a 6.67” FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and no card slot. Also, it has a 50MP main camera (with OIS) and 8MP ultra wide, plus a 16MP selfie (1080p video recording).
The Realm 12 isn’t even properly announced yet. We do know that it will feature a 108MP main camera with 3x in-sensor zoom, but further details are TBA. The phone will debut on March 6.
The Infinix Smart 8 Plus is now on pre-order. This is an entry-level phone with a 6.6” 90Hz IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. It is powered by the Helio G36 and runs Android 13 Go edition. It has a microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, a 50MP rear and 8MP front cameras. There’s a big 6,000mAh battery inside with 18W charging.
This is nearly identical to the Infinix Smart 8, which is already available. However, that one runs full Android 13 on a Unisoc T606 (an old 12nm chip) and has a 13MP main camera. The battery is smaller and slower at 5,000mAh and 10W.
The Lava Storm is a cheap 5G phone with the Dimensity 6080. It has a large 6.78” 120Hz FHD+ display, an IPS LCD, and a 16MP camera on the from. The rear holds a 50MP main and 8MP ultra wide. They are limited to 1080p video recording by the chipset. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging.
This is quite similar to the Lava Blaze Pro 5G, but we’d go with the Storm. They cost about the same, but the Blaze has a slightly weaker Dimensity 6020 chipset, no ultra wide and the selfie cam is only 8MP.
The Poco C55 is half off. This is a 4G only phone with an HD+ display (6.71” IPS LCD, 60Hz) that is powered by the Helio G85. It has expandable storage and a 3.5mm jack. There’s a 50MP camera on the back and a 5MP selfie on the front. The 5,000mAh battery only supports basic 10W charging.
The Lava Yuva 3 is around the same price. It has a smaller 6.5” IPS LCD, also HD+ resolution, but it runs at 90Hz. It uses the 12nm Unisoc T606 and has a 13MP rear camera, plus a 5MP selfie. The 5,00mAh battery charges more quickly at 18W. Expandable storage and a headphone jack are on board.
Next up, Sony headphones – both over-ear and in-ear. The Sony WH-1000XM5 have great active noise cancellation (better than XM4) and battery life, solid audio quality too. The microphone has been significantly improved this generation too.
The Sony WH-1000XM4 still hold out fine, especially when you look at the ₹7,000 discount. The older model is slightly more comfortable too (at least in our opinion).
The Sony WF-1000XM5 are the company’s flagship TWS buds. They have improved sound quality compared to the previous generation thanks to the new drivers and stellar ANC.
For a cheaper option, the Sony LinkBuds S are half off and nearly half the price of the WF-1000XM5. They are comfortable, have good ANC, while sound quality and battery life are good if not amazing.
The Sony Inzone Buds have a trick up their sleeve – well, in their charging case. A small USB-C dongle enables any device (be it PS5, PC or even phones and tablets) to connect over a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connection (30ms). They also work over Bluetooth, if you just want to listen to some music. ANC and 360 Spatial Sound are supported, plus AI-powered noise suppression for the microphone.
If you’re in the market for a monitor, check out the OnePlus E 24. It’s 63% off and offers a 24” IPS panel with 1080p resolution that runs at 75Hz. It has a built-in USB-C that outputs 18W. Not enough for a laptop (at least not under load), but plenty for a phone. Either way, plugging in a single cable is all it takes – now if only OnePlus phones had desktop mode. Anyway, there is an HDMI port too.
