French hotel activity is still slowing in these first months of 2024, with a number of performance indicators down compared with January 2023. The downturn was already evident during the previous month, and continues into January. The social and economic context, with the numerous demonstrations by French farmers and galloping inflation, is casting a pall over the French hotel industry, which is struggling to regain its previous dynamism.
The occupancy rate in the French hotel industry stood at 53.5% in January, marking a drop of around -1.3 points compared to January 2023.
