It’s perhaps not quite one for the royal photo album – but the Sam Allardyce photobombing Princess Beatrice did manage to raise a few chuckles.
The princess and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 40, were attending the yearly horse racing extravaganza Cheltenham Festival today (Thursday, March 14).
The couple looked swish in their coordinating outfits, the princess, 35, in a smart, classic camel coloured coat and her husband dressed in a country-inspired get up including a beige coloured suit, long tweed overcoat and olive paperboy cap.
And the scene was picture perfect, until football manager – also known as Big Sam – rocked up, with a report in The Telegraph saying he perhaps thought the assembled photographers were there to snap him.
The former England manager, 69, smiled and seemed not to be aware that he was standing in front of the princess and her property developer husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Beatrice – Prince Andrew and Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson’s daughter – thought it was hilarious and laughed in the background.
Today, Thursday, March 14, they were joined by a host of other Royal Family members too – including the Princess Royal, Mike and Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.
Princess Beatrice said she was “having the best day” and had picked out “a couple of winners” at the bookmakers, reported The Telegraph.
She added: “What else can you ask for from a great day’s racing?
“It’s a fabulous opportunity to watch these amazing horses run at the highest standard they can, and it’s just a lovely day out.”

Queen Camilla looked stunning yesterday as she attended the festival for “Style Wednesday”.
Camilla looked elegant in a green long coat by Anne Valentine which she paired with a vibrant floral scarf and her signature faux fur hat from Lock & Co (£375).
The Queen also donned her much loved Russell & Bromley Dressage knee-high black suede boots (£475) and the Demellier Mini Venice bag in Forest Grain (£370).
She accessorised her look with a pair of black leather gloves and gold earrings. But it was the Queen’s brooch that caught the attention of many royal watchers as it paid tribute to a former King of England.
