Michelle Keegan is busy filming in Australia for the second series of Ten Pound Poms and was spotted in a 1950s-style costume this week for the occasion. The actress, 36, who recently starred in Netflix’s hit series Fool Me Once, is surrounded by support when it comes to her various projects, including from her doting husband Mark Wright, 37, and his family.
The Wright family have proven to have Michelle’s back since she tied the knot with the former TOWIE star in 2015, which includes his siblings Jessica, Joshua and Natalya Wright and their parents Carol and Mark Wright, Sr. The family are used to the spotlight with Carol holding a particularly close relationship with her daughter-in-law which has often been sweetly shown in various ways.

‘Second mum’
Just a year after saying ‘I do’ to Mark, Michelle shared a post to celebrate Carol’s birthday and labelled her as her “second mummy”. Posting a selfie together, Michelle wrote: “Happy birthday to my 2nd mummy!”
For Michelle’s birthday in 2022, Carol made her love known as she shared a snap of the actress and her son with the caption: “Happy birthday to this beautiful soul. Have the best time @michkeegan love you x.”

Super supporter
When Michelle starred as Georgie Lane in BBC’s Our Girl, Carol was moved to tears from her daughter-in-law’s performance and made sure the world knew about it. After watching a heartbreaking episode, Carol shared a video of her TV screen and wrote on social media: “Wow @michkeegan this episode was so sad, your tears were so real, fantastic acting, I cried too. great actress, was very moving to say the least. X.”

This year, Carol also gushed over how proud she was of Michelle in her role as Maya Stern in Netflix’s Fool Me Once. In one post, underneath a snap, the actress shared, she wrote: “It’s unreal so proud you superstar” and in another said: “Amazing very proud of you. Xxx.”
Mum to the rescue
Back in 2022, Carol defended Michelle and Mark’s marriage after they were unable to spend their seventh wedding anniversary together due to work commitments. It caused concerns among fans, but Carol swooped in to squash any rumours and wrote a gushing tribute on Instagram.
Under Mark’s post to his beloved wife, Carol commented: “Happy anniversary to my son and daughter-in-law. Wow, seven years, but I only said today listening to you talking daily whilst you’re far away working in different parts of the world – the love is unreal.

“Yes, I do listen whilst w’alking past the room when Mark is in conversation, – he talks loud. But you two have an unconditional love that you have survived with having to travel apart.” However, in a surprising turn, Carol subsequently deleted her message.
Surprise party
In August last year, Michelle teamed up with her husband to throw his parents a surprise anniversary party. Sharing a heartwarming clip on Instagram of the surprise, Mark wrote: “Yesterday we surprised mum and dad with a 40th wedding anniversary party. After driving around for 40 mins to throw the scent of where we were going, we ended up back at the same place.@joshwright4444@holliekanewrightgarden haha. What a special day.@bigmarkwright@carolwright1.”
Carol commented underneath the post and wrote: “Was a very special day. My children made us very proud, thought of everything. Thank you. X.”

The in-laws have also been seen partying together on numerous occasions, including at Mark and Michelle’s ‘Marchella’ housewarming party at their £3.5 million Essex mansion last summer. In a sweet snap, Michelle and Carol had their arms wrapped around each other alongside Natalya Wright and Hollie Wright, who is married to Joshua Wright.
Back in 2018, Michelle and Carol were also caught in a sweet moment when they partied the night together after Mark had played in Soccer Aid. At the afterparty, Mark captured a video of his wife and mum dancing and holding hands together, he added the caption: “My favourite women planet earth.”
