Barring trades, the Las Vegas Raiders will make their second-to-last pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in the seventh round at No. 223, which was acquired in the trade for offensive tackle Justin Herron.
If the Raiders do end up making the pick at No. 223, it’ll be just the second time in franchise history they’ve done so in that spot, with the first and only selection coming in 1977.
The Raiders took running back Terry Robiskie out of LSU that year. Robiskie ended up being a backup for the vast majority of his career.
In his three seasons with the Raiders, Robiskie managed to tally 81 carries for 303 yards and three scores while adding 10 receptions for 87 yards. His best campaign with the Raiders was in 1978, when he finished with 240 yards from scrimmage and a career-high two rushing scores.
Robiskie’s last two seasons in the NFL were with the Miami Dolphins, where he played some fullback and posted career-highs in rushing yards (250) and scrimmage yards (310) in 1980. He was forced to retire in 1982 due to injury.
While his playing career wasn’t very long, Robiskie did enjoy a lengthy coaching career, including spending over a decade on the Raiders’ staff, working his way up from a special teams assistant to offensive coordinator.
Robiskie would go on to have multiple stints as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, including with the Cleveland Browns and the Tennessee Titans. He also served as an interim head coach twice (Washington, Cleveland).
