Raju Kage, Indian National Congress (INC) MLA from Karnataka state stirred controversy after his bizarre remarks amid the Lok Sabha Elections. While addressing an election gathering, he threatened the voters in the Jugulato region to cut electricity if they didn’t vote for the party by a huge margin.
In a video, which is going viral on social media platforms and being shared by several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, Kage can be heard saying in the local language, which is loosely translated to English: “If you don’t give us a lead then we will cut the electricity. And I will stick to my words.”

Poonawalla wrote, “After DK Shivkumar threatened housing society voters to vote for his brother now Congress MLA Raju Kage says if you don’t vote for me there will be electricity cuts…”
“Congress talks of Muhabbat ki Dukan but this is DHAMKI KE BHAIJAAN, he said, further adding that “ECI must act on this”.
“It shows sense of entitlement and arrogance of Congress & how they think voters are not Janta Janardhan but their slaves,” he said.
“Several instances of Karnataka Congress leaders speaking this language of threats,” the BJP leader further added.
