Jamaican star Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been named the 2023/24 Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Player of the Season.
Shaw has been a key figure in city’s push for the WSL title, registering 21 goals in just 18 appearances, while also providing three assists.
The 27 year old is on course to finish as the league’s top scorer, having incredibly averaged a goal every 66 minutes so far this campaign.
Shaw has already claimed individual acclaim for her exploits this season, having been named the Football Writers Association Footballer of the Year, alongside fellow City star, Phil Foden.
Shaw who is currently recovering from surgery on a broken leg she sustained during City’s 5-0 drubbing of West Ham on April 21, is the first player to score three WSL hattricks in a calendar year .
The Jamaican international has fought off the sizeable challenge of City team-mate Khiara Keating, Chelsea duo Lauren James and Niamh Charles and Arsenal’s Lotte Wubben-Moy to the award.
