Light and power company, Jamaica Public Service (JPS) is reporting a net profit of US$13.1 million for its first quarter ended March.
The works out to roughly J$2 billion after tax for the three-month period.
JPS’s revenue was US$254.6 million for the period.
That’s compared to US$244.3 million in revenue for the same period in 2023.
During the period, the company says it faced higher fuel costs, along with the increased cost of sales.
Impairment losses were however reduced.
