For the second year in a row, Dalton Risner has sat on the free-agent market, patiently waiting for a new deal. On Wednesday, he was able to find one with the same team that finally plucked him off the market last year.
Risner and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a 1-year deal with the guard. He started 11 games for the Vikings last season and is still solid in pass protection, so his signing makes plenty of sense with the team possibly trotting out rookie J.J. McCarthy at some point this season.
Risner was once a second-round pick of the Denver Broncos and quickly became a favorite of Broncos Country due to his Colorado roots. But a sideline outburst during a Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Rams seemed to push him out of favor in Denver as he quickly fell out of favor and the team made little effort to sign him to a new deal last offseason.

Dalton Risner gets new 1-year deal with Minnesota Vikings.
Risner made 62 starts in four seasons with Denver but struggled mightily at times. The Broncos signed Ben Powers last offseason and have developed Quinn Meinerz into one of the league’s better interior offensive linemen.
Risner should open camp as one of the Vikings’ starting guards.
