GAYTON McKenzie of the Patriotic Alliance (PA) is on fire and looking forward to going to Parliament.
However, the party leader has issued a stern warning that he will shake things up.
McKenzie was speaking at the National Results Operation Centre (ROC) in Midrand, smiling from ear to ear after coming eighth in the national elections.
So far, the PA received 2,06% of the vote, which translates to nine seats in Parliament.
This is a significant improvement for the party, compared to 2019 when it only secured 0,02% of the votes and no seats.
Patriotic Alliance’s (PA) Gayton McKenzie is on fire and looking forward to going to Parliament.
In light of this significant victory, McKenzie said he’s open to coalition talks with other parties, provided the PA gets to run Home Office.
The party focused its campaign on ending illegal immigration with the slogan “Abahambe” (Let them go). The aim is to take over the ministry responsible and put stricter border controls laws in place.

“In a coalition, you have to be able to negotiate and be modest. You can’t have everything you want, but there are certain things we can’t give up on. We don’t have preference for a particular party. Everyone knows that if they want to talk to the Palestinian Authority, Abahambe is number one. We don’t want the finances we want the Ministry of Interior.
“No one has won elections there. You mustn’t come to the PA as if you have won, no one is giving instructions here. We’re all one, if you don’t get it, I’ll go back to rebuild [Eldorado] and work. But they must prepare for the Parliament [to be shaken],” he vowed.
This will be the PA’s first general election and for McKenzie it’s long overdue.
McKenzie, who couldn’t help but brag, said, “We know the feeling of standing here and being put above others and not knowing if you’re going to make it to the board in 2014. That’s how bad we were, but we didn’t give up. Look at where we are now!”
