The Dodgers have scored first in both games vs. the Yankees in their series in New York, and Teoscar Hernandez was responsible for both leads. His second-inning home run Saturday put Los Angeles ahead 1-0.
He didn’t need long to see a pitch he liked, with the first pitch from Yankees starter Nestor Cortes staying up and in. Hernandez pulled his hands in and launched the ball out to left center for his 14th dinger of the season.
Hernandez also gave LA a lead in Friday’s game with his two-run double in the 11th inning.
