Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has, on Friday, been accused of aiming something of a shot at former head coach Graham Potter.
Englishman Potter, of course, endured a spell to forget on the bench at Stamford Bridge between last year and this, ultimately culminating in his deserved dismissal back in April.
The former Brighton boss was subsequently accused of being completely out of his depth in west London, having somehow managed to guide a squad packed with big-money talent into the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Todd Boehly and co. have since come to the decision to appoint Mauricio Pochettino in Potter’s place, after Frank Lampard too failed to steady the ship during an interim stint to close out the term.

And one individual of the opinion that Pochettino’s presence could have proven the difference in saving Chelsea’s season last time out comes in the form of the aforementioned Raheem Sterling.
Speaking to the media as part of the Blues’ pre-season tour of the United States, wide-man Sterling was today drawn on his initial reaction to the appointment of his new manager.
And, in heaping praise on ‘Poch’, the England international also appeared to aim a dig at Graham Potter (and potentially Lampard, or even Thomas Tuchel!).
This came as Sterling pointed towards the difference the Argentine would have made in ‘difficult’ moments:
‘I knew he would be a coach that would bring what we needed. To have someone like himself to lead us in difficult [moments] last season would have been good.’
