Chelsea are still falling short of Brighton’s valuation for Moises Caicedo, but Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi has hinted that offered Levin Colwill the other way could unlock the deal.
The Blues have had bids rising to £70million rejected for the 21-year-old, with Brighton demanding closer to £100million for their star midfielder.
For now, De Zerbi insists Caideco remains a Brighton player.
But with the south coast club keen to re-sign Colwill from the Blues in a permanent deal after his successful loan, the boss suggested a deal could be struck.
“At the moment Moises is a Brighton player,” De Zerbi said ahead of Chelsea and Brighton friendly in the United States.
“I spoke with Tony Bloom and he told me if the conditions don’t change, Moises stays with us.
“For me it should be great news because it is difficult to find another player like Moises.”
He continued: “There are two questions. Not only about Caicedo, also about Colwill, and maybe it can be [a swap].
“I would like to play with Caicedo and Colwill together but at the moment I can only speak about Caicedo as Colwill is not one of my players.”
Bayern Munich are set to table a third bid for Harry Kane, according to reports.
The German side will continue their efforts to sign him, despite Tottenham so far resisting all attempts to sign their talisman striker.
Bayern have had two bids rejected by Spurs already this summer, with the Premier League club insisting Kane is not for sale.
But, according The Times, the Bundesliga champions are confident Kane wants to join them and they are now preparing a third offer for the England captain.
Chelsea have reportedly joined the race for Kylian Mbappe, whose future at PSG is in major doubt.
The France superstar has been left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Japan, leading to big questions over his immediate future at the Parc des Princes.
Mbappe had earlier in the summer revealed his plans to see out his contract with the club and play one final season in Paris before leaving on a free transfer next summer.
Real Madrid are widely reported to be his chosen next destination, but PSG are keen to sell him now to make sure they don’t lose one of the world’s best players for nothing.
And after the latest twist in the saga, reports in France claim Chelsea are interested.
There is no offer from the Premier League club, claim RMC Sport, but they are looking into whether it’s financially viable to sign the World Cup winner.
The reports also say ‘at least one other’ English club is interested.
Saudi Arabia are also said to have joined the party, with Al-Hilal reportedly ready to offer Mbappe huge €400million wages across two years and a €200m transfer fee to PSG.
England Women had a rather chaotic start to their World Cup campaign against Haiti, with VAR used three times in the first 30 minutes of play.
The Lionesses had what looked to be a clear penalty denied after Chloe Kelly was scythed down in the box by a nasty studs-up challenge which deserved a red card.
But instead Alessia Russo was penalised for a foul in the build-up, with Haiti given a free-kick.
England were then awarded a spot kick after a clear handball in the box from a Haiti defender, only for Georgia Stanway’s penalty to be saved brilliantly by the goalkeeper.
But VAR stepped in for the third time, spotting that the keeper had stepped off her line, and so it was retaken with Stanway making no mistake the second time around.
The Lionesses are currently 1-0 up – you can follow the game on our live blog HERE
Southampton have rebuffed a fresh approach from Newcastle for defender Tino Livramento, talkSPORT understands.
The highly-rated 20-year-old has been linked with a move away from St Mary’s following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
But sources claim Saints do not want to sell Livramento despite their drop into the Championship.
Newcastle’s valuation is well below that of the relegated south coast side – the Magpies are believed to have offered £25million for the young full-back, but Saints value him at £50m.
Livramento has spent the last two campaigns with Southampton following his arrival from Chelsea, but he was restricted to just two Premier League appearances last season due to an ACL injury.
Lionel Messi began his Inter Miami career in the only way the Argentine magician could – with a trademark free kick to score a stunning last-minute winning goal against Cruz Azul.
Seven months on from lifting the World Cup, the eyes of the footballing world were trained on Florida as the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner made his eagerly anticipated first appearance.
Messi’s Miami debut has been years in the making and proved well worth the wait.
After Robert Taylor’s excellent opener was cancelled out by Uriel Antuna, the Messi struck at the death to send DRV PNK Stadium delirious and seal an unforgettable 2-1 Leagues Cup win.
It was the dream end to an evening that attracted fans of all ages in ‘Messi 10’ shirts, with stars like LeBron James, Serena Williams, Kim Kardashian and, of course, David Beckham among those in the sold-out, expectant crowd.

Mikel Arteta is convinced Thomas Partey will stay put at Arsenal this summer, despite the arrival of Declan Rice.
The Ghana midfielder has been linked with a move to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, but Arteta said he remains a key part of his plans.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s pre-season clash with Manchester United in New Jersey, Arteta said: “Without a question of a doubt, Thomas Partey is a super important player for us and for me. I want him to be in the team.
“Every time I spoke to him and every time I have a conversation with him, his will is to stay with us. For me, there’s nothing there at all.”
He said the arrival of Rice does not mean any lessening of Partey’s role.
“They can play together and that was in my plans,” he said. “You want to improve the squad and have more quality.
“We need players who can play together but we need players in the same position who can fight for their places.
“It’s something we haven’t had over the last few years and we wanted to improve that and that’s why we bought Declan.”
Kylian Mbappe has been left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season tour of Japan, casting renewed doubt over his future at the French giants this summer.
The squad that will accompany new boss Luis Enrique on the plane on Saturday was announced on Friday evening, with Mbappe’s name conspicuous by its absence.
The France star revealed earlier this summer that he would not sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
Mbappe added that he was planning to play for PSG during the forthcoming season to see out his deal but that would mean him leaving for free next summer.
Mbappe, who has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, did play for PSG in a friendly against Le Havre on Friday, scoring the second goal in a 2-0 victory.

Good morning sports fans, and happy Saturday!
This morning we’re building up to the England Lionesses’ World Cup opener against Haiti, but there’s plenty more to talk about in the world of football.
Here are the top headlines you’re waking up to…
That’s all for today’s live blog, but there will be plenty more tomorrow.
The transfer window continues to heat up with Saudi Arabia’s cash injection, and we may well hear more on the chase for top Premier League stars Harry Kane and Bernardo Silva.
Brighton are close to completing the £15m capture of Fiorentina defender Igor Julio, talkSPORT understands.
Brazilian centre back Igor will become the Seagulls’ fifth summer signing.
Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton have had a busy summer so far, seeing Aleix Mac Allister sold to Liverpool for £35m, rising to £55m.
They also broke their club record transfer fee by signing Joao Pedro from Watford for £30m.
Keen not to be left short at the back, 25-year-old Igor will now strengthen their defensive corps.
Here’s more on the Josko Gvardiol saga.
This time it’s from teammate and defensive partner Willi Orban, who has added more doubt to rumours of the Croatian’s possible move to Man City.
Orban said from RB Leipzig’s pre-season training camp: “I asked him [Gvardiol], he says the deal isn’t done.
“I would love to keep him here, he is a fantastic centre-back who is still very young and still has room for improvement.
“I hope he will stay with us.”
Italian coach Luciano Spalletti has turned down a ‘huge’ offer to take a job in Saudi Arabia.
Spalletti is without a club after leaving Naploi following their Serie A title triumph.
Footmercato claim Spalletti is keen to have a sabbatical after ending Napoli’s long wait for a league championship.
He was approached by Al-Ahli to become their new boss, but he turned them down despite offering the 64-year-old a massive pay cheque.
‘And for good reason’, reports the Italian outlet, as Spalletti is being courted by Juventus to become their next manager.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle all have a realistic chance of signing Kylian Mbappe.
That’s according to football finance expert at Sheffield Business School, Dr Rob Wilson, who says it would make financial sense for the French superstar to leave ‘second tier club’ Paris Saint-Germain for a European giant.
Speaking via renowned UK YouTube channel FruitySlots.com, Dr Wilson said: “Kylian Mbappe does make financial sense for Man United, Arsenal and Newcastle.
“He’s young enough, still. He’s an iconic sportsman playing at a second-tier French club. PSG generally speaking are second-tier.
“It’s an opportunity to deliver huge brand leverage which I don’t think has been optimised for PSG. You have Nike and the Jordan brand but he’s in the Messi-Ronaldo bracket, or David Beckham in years before.
“I think moving to a club with the sort of global reach of Man Utd or Real Madrid would be game-changing for him.
“But the acquisition value means there’s a lot of pressure for him to perform on the pitch. He’s built his brand on being in the French national team and then a little bit of success for PSG. He makes absolute sense to Real, Man United or Barcelona.
“You’re always looking for these superstars for brand alignment, and I think you get that with Man United or Real.
“It would be realistic if the Qataris took over Man United and the clear involvement they have with PSG.”
Crystal Palace are confident Wilfried Zaha will stay put this summer and be an Eagles player again this season.
The winger is a free agent after his contract at Selhurst Park expired at the end of last season.
Palace have plenty of competition, with the 30-year-old keen to take his career to the next level and play European football.
But the Evening Standard claim no top level European clubs have come to the table to sign him so far in this window, and Palace are hopeful of agreeing a deal to re-sign their talisman.
Nottingham Forest have agreed a £15million deal with Manchester United to sign Anthony Elanga.
The 21-year-old winger has turned down approaches from Everton and West Ham to move to the City Ground, while Marseille were also keen on the Sweden international.
Elanga is expected to undergo his medical this weekend before putting pen to paper in a deal to become Forest’s second summer signing.
Elanga has spent almost a decade at United, having joined at the age of 12 after his family relocated from his native Sweden – where he was in the Malmo academy – to Manchester.
He made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in the 2020/21 campaign, making 55 appearances in total and pitching in with four goals and four assists.
Erik ten Hag has insisted he ‘respects’ Harry Maguire and says the centre-back is ‘very important’ for Manchester United.
Maguire was recently stripped of the club’s captaincy, with Ten Hag picked Bruno Fernandes as his new skipper instead.
It’s claimed Maguire ‘warmly congratulated’ Fernandes on getting the armband, with Ten Hag announcing his decision to the whole squad yesterday during their pre-season tour of the United States.
Reports have linked Maguire with an exit this summer, but it has since been claimed that Ten Hag is keen for him to stay put.
And now the head coach has clarified his thoughts about the England defender.
“We respect Harry Maguire — he’s very important for this squad, for this team,” Ten Hag said.
“And, you know, in his role as a centre-back, we have four centre-backs.
“I talked about consistency, we know we can’t do it with 11 players and so I’m happy we have four very good centre-backs.”
Eric Bailly is wanted by clubs in the Premier League and Saudi Arabia with the defender set to leave Manchester United.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who says the Ivory Coast international will depart Old Trafford ‘in the coming weeks’.
It is claimed Fulham have enquired about the possibility of signing the centre-back, who has made 113 appearances over six seasons as a United player.
But Saudi clubs are also keen on the 29-year-old, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq linked with an interest.
Danny Welbeck has told talkSPORT the Brighton players are treating Moises Caicedo no differently despite the midfielder’s links with a move to Chelsea.
Caicedo is reported to have told Brighton of his wish to join the Blues, but the Seagulls insist he will not leave unless their £100million-plus price tag is met.
For now, though, he remains a Brighton player and Welbeck insists there are no problems with Caicedo in the dressing room.
“Moises is an incredible player and an incredible guy, he’s a top person,” the former Manchester United and Arsenal striker told talkSPORT.
“The decision is not down to us, but we treat him exactly the same as we did from the first day he arrived.
“While he’s still here, we’re still staying with him every single day, and until that changes then we’ll give him a big hug and we’ll say, ‘Bye bye’.
“But if he doesn’t, we’ll give him a big hug and say, ‘Hello’!”
Allan Saint-Maximin has got his medical booked in with Al Ahli ahead of his transfer from Newcastle, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Magpies has agreed to sell the Frenchman to Saudi Arabia to help fund their £30million deal for Harvey Barnes as a direct replacement.
Al Ahli are also signing Riyad Mahrez from Man City, with an announcement on that deal expected soon.
And after that deal is done, the Saudi Pro League side will turn their full attention to Saint-Maximin, who is set to become the latest player to leave the Premier League for the Saudi league.
Jurgen Klopp has ruled out taking the Germany job, reiterating that he plans to complete his contract at Liverpool.
Hansi Flick is under pressure in the Germany hotseat after a run of four wins in 16 games.
Klopp says leading the national team would be a ‘great honour’ but insists will see out his deal with the Reds, if they’ll have him, which runs until 2026.
“The job of national coach is and would be a great honour — there’s no question about that,“ Klopp said.
“The problem that stands in the way of the whole thing is my loyalty. I can’t just leave Liverpool now and say I’ll take over Germany for a short time. That doesn’t work and the request isn’t even there.
“If I’m supposed to do that [manage Germany] at some point, then I have to be available and I’m not currently. I have a responsibility towards the club.
“Basically, it’s an interesting job. But I don’t know yet whether I’ll do something completely different after I leave Liverpool. I want to keep my options open.”
Former West Ham maverick Dimitri Payet broke down in tears as he announced his departure from Marseille.
The French forward has been released after seven years back with the French club.
West Ham signed Payet from Marseille in 2015, with the playmaker enjoying an outstanding first season with the London club before sealing a rather bitter exit back to Marseille in January 2017, midway through his second season.
Just a few weeks ago, the Frenchman revealed that he did not want to leave the club this summer.
But, now 36, he is no longer wanted by the club and he has had his contract terminated.
Payet leaves having made 173 direct goal contributions [78 goal, 95 assists] in 326 appearances for Marseille.
Here’s a round-up of the top headlines this afternoon:
– Ange Postecoglou admits he is ‘not relaxed’ about the Harry Kane situation and wants to find a solution to the ongoing rumours surrounding the striker quickly.
– RB Leipzig insist there is ‘no agreement’ in place with Man City over a deal for Josko Gvardiol, with the German club under no pressure to sell after Dominik Szoboszlai’s recent move to Liverpool.
– Aston Villa are set to break their transfer record to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, who is scheduled to undergo his medical with the club after turning down a move to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi side Al Nassr.

Burnley have announced the signing of Nathan Redmond.
The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the option for a third year, having left Turkish club Besiktas earlier this summer.
Redmond signed for Besiktas last September after more than six years at Southampton.
He made 28 appearances for the Super Lig giants last season, contributing six goals and six assists.
But after one year in Turkey he has sealed a move back to the Premier League newly-promoted Burnley, with Redmond the Clarets’ fifth signing this summer as they prepare for their top flight return.
And the club’s social media admin were at it again, as they announced the deal with another hilarious video clip.
Ange Postecoglou has conceded he is ‘not relaxed’ about the Harry Kane situation.
The new Tottenham boss wants the transfer saga resolved soon, amid the continued speculation over his future and a possible move to Bayern Munich this summer.
In fresh quotes from the club’s pre-season tour of Australia, the manager says it’s not good for Spurs or the striker for the uncertainty to keep dragging on.
Asked if he is relaxed about the Kane situation, Postecoglou shook his head with a smile: “Fair to say I am not relaxed about it! It’s not something you go: ‘Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn’t happen!’ I mean it’s a very important part of this football club, not just the team, but the football club,” he said.
“He is such a massive figure, and as I have said already, whilst my focus isn’t on it on a daily basis because I’ve got other things I need to do, I know that every time I am talking to you guys, or whenever Harry is going to talk, that’s the first question you are going to get.
“So, you’ve got to deal with it, and I think, for everyone concerned, we don’t want to be doing it for too long.
“I don’t think that is good for anyone. I don’t think it is good for Harry, I don’t think it is good for the club, because as laser focused as we want to be, you end up sort of repeating yourself along the way.
“But the flip side of that is I don’t want to put a deadline on it, because that adds even more pressure. You want these things to happen for the right reasons. The reality of it is he’s still a contracted player at our football club, so that’s the way I see him.
“It’s not like his contract is ending on the 12th [of August] and he’s got to make a decision, he’s got another year. So from that part, I am not relaxed but I am not putting pressure on him or anyone else at the football club, saying ‘well we need to do this’. But I don’t think deep down any of us want it to go on for too long.”
