The Commanding Officer for the St Catherine North Police Division, Superintendent Hopeton Nicholson is informing that during the last three months, a total of five stolen motor vehicles were recovered in the Guys Hill Police District.
The Guys Hill Police District also borders the parishes of St Ann and St Mary.
Four of the stolen vehicles were Toyota Axio motor cars and one Toyota Hiace minibus.
“They were all recovered in the Guys Hill Police District over the past three months. These motor vehicles were reportedly stolen in the parishes of St Ann, St Catherine, and Kingston.
The latest vehicle recovery happened on Saturday (June 15), when the Guys Hill Police intercepted a Toyota Axio motor car with two men in said vehicle.
“This was in the community of Berkshire Hall. This motor car was stolen in the parish of St Ann and two persons were in the vehicle. They were both taken into custody and presently St Catherine North and St Ann Police detectives are conducting an investigation,” he said.
Superintendent Nicholson noted that all these motor vehicles were recovered at different times during the day. He added: “The operational activities will continue throughout the day and the night.”
“We realise that persons are going across from parish to parish conducting illegal activities and we in St Catherine North, hope to deny them this opportunity,” Superintendent declared.
