“Inside Out 2” had a spectacular box office debut, ruling both home and foreign markets. The animated picture has taken in the biggest box office haul of the year thus far, both domestically and internationally.
“Inside Out 2” is doing really nicely in India. Sacnilk.com reports that the movie has brought in ₹7.4 crore in its first three days of release. It brought in ₹1.5 crore on its first day and increased significantly over the following two, bringing in ₹2.65 crore on day two and ₹3.25 crore on day three respectively. Strong rivalry from other releases like “Chandu Champion” and “Munjya” has not stopped this excellent start. Sunday saw a 39.82% English occupancy percentage for the movie.
Only behind Pixar’s “Incredibles 2,” which debuted with $182.7 million, “Inside Out 2” was the second-biggest three-day opening for an animated film in history, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
With $140 million in earnings, “Inside Out 2” had a strong debut weekend overseas as well. That makes the worldwide total an astounding $295 million.
Critics have given “Inside Out 2” high marks; it now has a 92% rating on review aggregator websites. The Hindustan Times gave the sequel great marks for letting Sadness play a bigger part as Joy, who is going through an existential crisis, discovers that growing older usually implies feeling less happy. Particular praise has gone to the emotional nuance and character development of the picture.
