Two people were shot dead, and another three injured at a tavern in Walmer, Gqeberha, on Sunday.
According to Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu, approximately five masked assailants entered the establishment and opened fire on the patrons.
“The men all had balaclavas or masks on, covering their faces,” she said.
