Xbox now owns the Crash IP

The Activision, and now Microsoft-owned IP, Crash Bandicoot has just had another sales milestone – announcing his collection Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has now hit 20 million sales globally after releasing on multiple platforms including Xbox One in 2018.
In case you missed it, the N. Sane trilogy is a remaster collection of Crash Bandicoot (1996), Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (1997) and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (1998). It was eventually followed by a fourth game Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time in 2020.
As already noted, Microsoft now technically owns this franchise, although the developer working on the Crash series Toys for Bob recently decided to go independent. However, its first project as an indie studio will be published by Microsoft. Crash Bandicoot joined Xbox’s video game library when Microsoft finalised the acquisition of Activision Blizzard for close to $70 billion last year.
