RB F1 : La pluie 'a aidé' (…)

Yuki Tsunoda a terminé dixième du Grand Prix de Grande-Bretagne à Silverstone. Le pilote RB F1 est satisfait de réussir un top 10, sur un tracé où la VCARB 01 n’était pas au mieux, et dans des conditions qu’il n’apprécie pas particulièrement d’habitude.

“C’était une bonne course, j’en suis content. Je savais que ça allait être difficile sur le sec et la pluie m’a aidé cette fois, à maintenir l’écart voire même le réduire avec les voitures devant. Généralement, je n’aime pas les courses sous la pluie, mais cette fois, elle m’a aidé” a déclaré Tsunoda.

Le Japonais ne s’attendait pas à inscrire un point et se console avec ce résultat, en attendant mieux : “Si l’on se base sur ce qu’on avait vu en Essais Libres au niveau du rythme, on pensait qu’il serait difficile d’aller chercher des points sur cette course.”

“On marque un point donc on le prend, et on passe à la suite. J’espère que les prochaines courses seront meilleures. Nous avons eu assez de circuits rapides, et les prochains auront un mélange de virages rapides et lents, donc on espère pouvoir afficher nos forces et en tirer parti.”

Daniel Ricciardo a terminé hors des points et admet que la course a été difficile : “Je ne veux pas jouer la carte du “pauvre nous”, la course était en conditions mixtes et il y avait de quoi saisir des opportunités, mais nous n’avions pas le rythme pour y parvenir. C’était piégeux, la course était longue.”

“A chaque fois que j’ai vu la météo changer, j’ai espéré que ce soit le moment où tout prendrait vie et que l’on pourrait se montrer, mais ce n’était pas une journée compétitive. La course est longue et on sait quand on n’a pas le rythme. On a eu des difficultés, plus qu’on aurait dû, donc on va devoir comprendre pourquoi.”

“Les trois week-ends ont été difficiles, on a eu une bonne course la semaine dernière, mais face à nos rivaux dans le peloton, on a un peu perdu dans cette bataille des évolutions. Ce n’est pas suffisant, et la voiture n’était pas assez à son aise pour corriger ses faiblesses.”
