Euro 2024 comes to an end on Sunday when Spain face pre-tournament favourites England in the final in Berlin.
Luis de la Fuente’s side booked their place in the final by beating France 2-1 on Tuesday, before the Three Lions defeated The Netherlands by the same scoreline on Wednesday to set up a tantalising final on Sunday.
France were one of a number of big teams to have struggled at the tournament in Germany, with Didier Deschamps’ side scoring just one goal from open play in total.
Now, though, Premier League giants Liverpool are being linked with a move for one member of the France squad.
According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato via The Evening Standard, the Reds are one of a number of clubs chasing French midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 29-year-old is currently a free agent after departing Italian giants Juventus when his contract expired at the end of last season.
Rabiot is currently without a club
Rabiot has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Spanish side Real Madrid and German giants Bayern Munich, according to the report.
During a five-year spell in Turin, the former Paris Saint-Germain man made a total of 212 appearances across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and registering 15 assists.
He has also been a regular in Deschamps’ Les Bleus side for some time now, tallying up 48 senior caps for his country.
Liverpool are in the market for midfield reinforcements following the departure of Spaniard Thiago Alcantara at the end of last term.
Last summer, the Merseyside outfit underwent a significant midfield overhaul with several key players departing, and the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai arriving at Anfield.
New manager Arne Slot is yet to make a signing since taking charge of the Reds, but it appears that Liverpool are seriously interested in signing Rabiot.
