Fans are still anticipating Cardi B’s sophomore album six years after releasing her debut Invasion of Privacy in 2018. Not only have some of her supporters grown tired of waiting, but apparently her peers have as well.
On Thursday (July 18), Cardi found herself firing at both Joe Budden and social commentator Paradise Paris over their respective criticisms of her delayed project. As Budden defended himself against Cardi accusing him of drug use and once receiving a lap dance from her, Paris found herself reading the Bronx star over body-shaming comments.
The entire blow up began when Cardi took to X Spaces (formerly Twitter Spaces) to blast the rapper-turned-podcaster, who made a prediction on his podcast that she isn’t going to release another album in her career.
“We’ll never get another album again. I am standing on it,” he said. “Cardi got something dropping with my man Rob[49] on Friday, but that’s what Cardi’s gonna be now. A single artist.”
He added, “I’m sure Offset wants Cardi to put an album out. Ay, fellas out there. Boyfriends, y’all know that feeling right? When you want your bi**h to get a job. You in the house and your bi**h won’t leave… Ain’t you got an album to do? Ain’t you got a single?”
In response, the Grammy-winner went off, saying, “Bro I gave you a lap dance two times in Starlets. You was high as f**k. High as f**k on coke, ni**a… I don’t give a f**k when people talk sh*t about me. It’s the fact you always talk sh*t about me, Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you would think I did something to this ni**a. For the past two years, this ni**a has only talked bad things about me.”
She then spoke on the “Pump It Up” rapper comparing her to other women rappers.
“Every five or six months you comparing another female rapper towards me, you compare new artists, old artists, every single f**king artist with me, bro,” she said. “If you love these bi**es so much, why are you not talking about their album? You compare females to me that my worst records beat their best records. I don’t give a f**k about none of these bi**hes.”
Cardi then asserted that she believes Budden purposely wants her album to drop just so that he can “criticize” it. “’Cause every time I drop something you don’t like it. Every single time a bi**h drops something and they doing mediocre, you say they doing better than me,” she continued. “What are you talking about? The sh*t is in motion. Merch is in motion, the box sets is in motion. You don’t know sh*t.”
Budden debunked some of the things Cardi said about him such as his alleged drug use back then and getting a lap dance from her. He also vowed to never “cover a single thing this girl does for the remainder of her career.”
“I really just wanted an album from someone whose music i love,” he wrote on X before apologizing to her. “She cursing me smooth out but she still hilarious lol…. I’m going to bed, i apologize to @iamcardib for whatever i did and peace and love to all.”

As many thought Cardi’s rant was done for the day, she then found herself in another exchange with viral social commentator, Paradise Paris.
Paris, who’s gone viral for her many “reads,” took to X to give her own opinion on Cardi B‘s music career and the multiple postponements of her album. However, the “Up” rapper didn’t appreciate Paris’ critique, and in return she spoke on her body.
“Why does Cardi B feels she’s above criticism?” Paris wrote on X. “All of her peers are dropping albums & doing progressive things in their career and she sticks out like a sore thumb. No tours, no meet & greet, no merch, one album, featured singles & viral moments. Is she a rapper or does she rant?”
In response, Cardi said, “That’s not what I said….F**K YOU AND YOUR THREE STOMACHS BI**H.”
From there, Paris read the mother-of-two in a video, calling out the former exotic dancer for allegedly “drugging men,” “selling sex,” being “homophobic,” receiving multiple surgeries due to “insecurity,” dealing with Offset’s infidelities, “pretending to be Black” and much more. She also suggested that Cardi focus on making singles that will stay on the charts for “longer than two weeks.”

In a series of tweet-and-deletes, Cardi clapped back with more body-shaming comments to Paris, before eventually sending a public apology to her fans.
“I wanna say this to Bardi gang or anybody who’s just a fan of my music or even my craziness… I have my good days and my bad days but you know what, whether it’s good or bad I couldn’t be happier with the obvious anticipation for my album,” she wrote. “Sometimes I get a little aggressive because yall know I don’t like to be told what to do but I promise you it’s coming THIS YEAR. Thank you for the love and anticipation and always holding me down. I love yall.”
Paris then responded to Cardi, saying that she would have appreciated a calm response to her critique of the delayed album, much like her apology.
“This is such a piss poor way of lacking accountability because you could have addressed my initial tweet like this instead of trying to get a fake a** drag going body for body!” she wrote on X. “You’re a nasty bi**h with a filthy moral standing and you better pray you can survive the media lashings of this upcoming album.”
