TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic will reunite with rival Rulani Mokwena in the Botola Pro League
The 45-year-old German mentor is tipped to replace Josef Zinnbauer at Raja Casablanca. TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi told SABC Sport that Ramovic had resigned and would head out to Morocco in the next few days.
This comes after weeks after ex-Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena joined Wydad Casablanca as head coach. The two coaches did not enjoy the best of relationships last season having faced off three times. They exchanged bitter words publicly and it almost turned physical back in May.
Ramovic leaves Galaxy, renews rivalry with Rulani Mokwena
“It’s a done deal. Ramovic is expected to fly out after the friendly with Yanga FC and he will take with him the two assistant coaches, Beganovic Adnan and Kodro Mustafa, as well as goalkeeper coach Greg Etafia,” Sukazi told SABC Sport.
Rulani Mokwena and Sead Ramovic will coach two of the biggest clubs in Morocco next season. Tim Sukazi has allowed his coach to leave for Raja despite the team improving drastically last season.
“It is part of our moral fibre to release our people when they are called for better opportunities elsewhere. We’ve mostly done it with our players and our coaches are not excluded from this governing principle at our Club,” Sukazi added.
“Raja Casablanca is amongst the top 5 clubs in the African continent and it is not so often that a coach gets head-hunted for their head coach position,” he said.
Those who thought Rulani Mokwena and Ramovic’s saga was over, think twice, the battle just moved from South Africa to Morocco. Sukazi is yet to name Ramovic’s replacement at Galaxy.
Will the two coaches last more than a season in Morocco?
