Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport announced a strategy to support sports clubs for the 2023-24 season and develop the six key initiatives.
In a statement, the ministry said the new strategy included the allocation of SAR 160 million for various projects under the initiative of facilities development, such as Riyad Club and Khaleej Club.
Further, a direct support of SAR 1.11 billion will be earmarked for the clubs of ROSHN Saudi League (RSL), Yellow League and the Saudi League Second Division.
A total of SAR 474.5 million will be directed to the “unified points system” initiative of various sports.
The ministry will launch the soccer fans attendance initiative at SAR 30 million. Moreover, six projects will be implemented under the digital transformation initiative.
A fixed support of SAR 88 million will be allocated for the third and fourth divisions clubs. The Third Division clubs will ger SAR 1 million annually, while the Fourth Division clubs will receive SAR 750,000.
King Fahd Stadium, Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium and Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium will be upgraded.
A new stadium will be also established in the north of Riyadh.
The ministry will also upgrade King Abdullah Sport City in Jeddah and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.
Further, youth clubs will be built. Five new model clubs will be developed, of which two will be located in Riyadh, two in Jeddah and one in Dammam.
Development services will be provided for the facilities of 27 clubs, and the designs of the new stadium in Riyadh will be finalized.
