Well, as of Thursday (Aug. 10), TMZ reportedly spoke to Tian, who slammed the entire statement as “jarring misinformation.” The outlet only shared alleged quotes from the former social media sensation. They did not indicate which medium was used to conduct the interview.
In addition to ensuring her and Jason’s safety, Tian reportedly called the last 24 hours “very traumatizing.”
“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess,” Tay Tian reportedly said.
Statement Says Tay Tian’s Instagram Was “Compromised,” Death Announcement Has Been Removed
The resurfaced teen reportedly also explained that a third party hacked her Instagram account. However, she said Meta, Instagram’s parent company, assisted her in regaining access. As of Thursday, the death announcement first seen on Lil Tay’s Instagram feed is no longer available.
“My Instagram was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring information and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not “Claire Hope,” she reportedly said.
On Thursday, The Shade Room independently confirmed Tay Tian’s death was not under investigation by the Vancouver Police Department.
“We haven’t gotten any reports of either death here. As of now, we are not aware and are not investigating,” VPD Media Relations Officer Constable Tania Visintin told TSR via email.
The Shade Room also reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for comment on possible investigations relating to Tay Tian or Jason Tian. We are still awaiting a response.
The seemingly debunked death announcement claimed police were investigating the “circumstances” of the alleged deaths. Read the full Instagram post below:
