Super Falcons of Nigeria are scheduled to kick off their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign with three other season players who have made it to Randy Waldrum’s 23-man list aside Onome Ebi.
The former FC Levante Las Planas, who recently turned 40-year-old, would lead Waldrum’s team to Oceania in July to secure the first World Cup victory.
While much attention is given to the emerging talents and rising stars, it’s equally important to acknowledge players aside from the Super Falcons, whose contributions are expected to bring stability and leadership to the squad.
However, Soccernet.ng delves into the three Super Falcons players aged above 30 who have made it to Randy Waldrum’s 23-man list.
Yetunde Balogun (33-year-old)
At 33 years old, Balogun brings her wealth of experience to the Super Falcons squad as a goalkeeper. Currently representing AS St Ettienne, Balogun has proven her mettle between the goalposts with her exceptional shot-stopping abilities and commanding presence. Her agility and quick reflexes make her a formidable force for opposing teams, and her calmness under pressure is an invaluable asset for Nigeria’s defensive line.

Oluehi is another formidable goalkeeper in the Super Falcons’ lineup. With a wealth of international experience, Oluehi has been a mainstay in the Nigerian national team, consistently delivering outstanding performances. Her time with Hakkarigücü Spor has further honed her skills and provided her with invaluable exposure to different playing styles. Oluehi’s commanding presence and excellent positional sense make her a vital pillar of strength in defense, instilling confidence in her teammates.
Osinachi Ohale (31-year-old)
The 31-year-old adds strength and resilience to Nigeria’s defensive line. Currently plying her trade at Deportivo Alavés, Ohale’s physicality and tactical awareness make her a reliable presence at the back. Her ability to read the game and make crucial interceptions has played a vital role in stifling opposition attacks. Ohale’s experience and composure under pressure make her an influential figure within the Super Falcons squad.
