Russell Brand is now being investigated by two police forces in the U.K. following the allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse against the actor and comedian that were revealed in a joint investigation by Channel 4, The Sunday Times and The Times.
On Monday, Thames Valley Police said a woman contacted the force two weeks ago with “new information” in relation to reports of “harassment and stalking,” according to the BBC, which added that the woman had reported her allegations the same police force numerous times between 2018 and 2022 but no further action was taken.
The news comes following the London’s Metropolitan Police previously confirming that it was launching a probe into “non-recent” incidents, saying that it had received a “number of allegations of sexual offences.”
Brand has previously vehemently denied “very serious criminal allegations,” using a video post to describe the accusations as “extremely egregious and aggressive attacks” that he said he “absolutely refutes”.
Following the expose into Brand, which aired on Sep. 16, the BBC, Channel 4 and Banijay UK, which employed Brand at various stages of his career and during the period where the allegations are said to have occurred, have each launched their own internal investigations. Channel 4 and the BBC also removed certain content featuring Brand from their streaming platforms, while a 2009 stand-up special of his was removed from Paramount+.
