Relationships 5 signs of cheating: How to know if your partner might be cheating on you If it all adds up (and some things don’t) By Saumyaa Vohra28 May 2023
There are many signs of cheating that you may have heard about from friends, and people in your life who have experienced it. But to be fair, the signs of cheating can’t always be caught out– some people are incredibly careful and cautious in how they conduct their affairs. There are however a few signs of cheating that become a bit impossible to hide; and these five signs of cheating are easier to spot than most…..CONTINUE READING
1. They care a lot more about how they look
It’s of course possible that your partner is always particular about how they look, in which case there is no cause for alarm. But if you are partner hasn’t really made an effort to put a product in hair, do a face mask, or buy a stylish suit in a long time–and is suddenly doing all these things on the double; you may want to ask yourself why there is such a renewed interest in their appearance. It could, of course, be something completely innocuous–but there is a chance there’s another person that they’re doing this for.
2. They get really weird about their phone
In a 2023 world, you really can’t cheat without the help of your smartphone. If they are particularly cagey about their phone around you; dimming the brightness, making sure it’s never out of their sight, turning off all notifications, or changing the lock code from something you use to know for emergencies to something you no longer know, there is a good chance there’s something on there they do not want you to see.
3. They give you TOO much information
The key to lying well is details; and if your partner is a seasoned liar, they know that. A person who is cheating will definitely know that they need to have an alibi in place for the times they disappear; and so they will likely make sure that that alibi is watertight. They’ll give you so much detail about where they were and what they were doing that it will erase all doubt from your mind. An innocent person will be casual about their plans and fill you in on the details should you ask for them, but a guilty person will present you with far too much information from the get-go.
4. They are suddenly defensive
If you find your partner being more irritable and snapping more than usual, there is a chance it could stem from the guilt of cheating. If you find them being incredibly defensive where there is usually no need to be, cheating could be the cause of that. Being questioned about changes in behaviour, or changes in your relationship could give a person guilty of cheating far more stress than it would a person who isn’t, because they know exactly what the reason is for those changes (and are probably ashamed of it).
5. They suddenly have new interests
What we are referring to is not a sudden interest in surfing while you’re on a beach holiday, or one isolated innocent change in interests that is just a normal part of life and experimenting with the idea of yourself. What we mean is an interest in various new things that they have never shown before, without any particular reason for it; a sudden liking for a music genre they never cared about, being interested in a new cuisine that they used to dislike, or an interest in an area they never expressed interest in before (corporate law, the stock market, dance). The reason for multiple new interests could possibly be a single new partner who cares about these things–and has shared them with yours.…..CONTINUE READING
