21 Savage has announced his first-ever concert in the country where he grew up. The show happens at the O2 in London on November 30. Following a 2019 detention by ICE for allegedly outstaying his visa, the rapper is now able to travel internationally as a newly permanent citizen of the U.S. “London, I’m coming home,” he promised on social media.
In February 2019, 21 Savage was detained for 10 days in a southern Georgia detention center; in an interview that year, he claimed to have been targeted for his expired visa. He’d arrived in the U.S. as a 7-year-old and said he didn’t know about his visa status. After three years in the federal Immigration Court backlog, concrete progress has now been made.
“His immigration court proceedings have now been terminated and he is a lawful permanent resident of the United States with the freedom to travel internationally,” 21 Savage’s lawyer Charles Kuck
