Prime Video’s “Kelce,” a documentary chronicling Philadelphia Eagles team captain and All-Pro center Jason Kelce, is now the streamer’s most-watched documentary ever in the United States following its premiere a month ago. The Beast
Bertrand Bonello’s Venice premiering, time-hopping, sci-fi romance tale “The Beast” has been acquired by Sideshow and Janus Films. A U.S. theatrical release is planned for 2024 for the film which is based on the Henry James novella “The Beast in the Jungle”.
Set in the near future where A.I. reigns supreme and human emotions have become a threat, Gabrielle (Lea Seydoux) attempt to purify her DNA by going back into her past lives. There, she reunites with Louis (George MacKay), her great love. But she is overcome by fear, a premonition that catastrophe is on the way. [Source: THR]
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Catherine O’Hara is set to reprise her Sally character from 1993’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” for one of three 30th anniversary concerts at the Hollywood Bowl later this month
Her co-star and the film’s composer Danny Elfman will sing the Jack Skellington role all three nights from October 27th-29th. Halsey will perform the role for the first two nights with O’Hara taking over on the last night. [Source: Deadline]
One Life
Bleecker Street has acquired U.S. rights to the Anthony Hopkins-led “One Life” which is planned for a 2024 theatrical release. Hopkins plays the older version of the lead character who is racked by survivor’s guilt.
Based on Barbara Winton’s book, it details the life of Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton with Johnny Flynn portraying the younger Winton who tried to save as many children as possible before Nazi occupation closes the borders. Helena Bonham Carter, Jonathan Pryce, Lena Olin, Romola Garai, Alex Sharp and Marthe Keller also star. [Source: Variety]
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
Ahead of the film’s digital release on October 10th, a new behind-the-scenes featurette for “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” has been released showcasing how they captured the film’s train crash sequence.
Multiple cameras were used to capture the sequence for which there was no real rehearsal – they could only crash the train once. The films 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release will be available on October 31st:
