tvN’s upcoming drama “Castaway Diva” has shared a new sneak peek of its two leading ladies!
“Castaway Diva” is a new romantic comedy starring Park Eun Bin as Seo Mok Ha, an aspiring singer who gets stranded on a deserted island while traveling to Seoul for an audition. The drama marks the reunion of director Oh Choong Hwan and writer Park Hye Ryun, who previously worked together on “While You Were Sleeping” and “Start-Up.”
Kim Hyo Jin will play the role of Seo Mok Ha’s idol Yoon Ran Joo, who was once a glamorous top star but is now a forgotten celebrity of the past without any fans. Just when she loses all hope and hits rock bottom, her life takes an unexpected turn when her devoted fan Seo Mok Ha is rescued from her deserted island after 15 years.
In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Seo Mok Ha’s resourceful and resilient nature is on full display as she makes a home for herself on an uninhabited island. Alone, with no shelter or food except what she can find for herself, Seo Mok Ha makes clever use of the junk that’s washed up on shore and diligently searches for food.
Meanwhile, two contrasting photos of Yoon Ran Joo highlight the gap between her present-day reality and her former glitzy life as a famous, confident star.
By the time Seo Mok Ha is rescued, Yoon Ran Joo’s success and popularity have completely evaporated, to the point where she is now forced to crash at a fan’s house because she needs a place to stay.
After years of living in isolation on their respective “islands,” Seo Mok Ha and Yoon Ran Joo find hope and strength in each other as they make up for one another’s shortcomings. The unlikely alliance forged by the two women will give rise to a heartwarming story of second chances at life.
