A suspicious Tesla Cybertruck price rumor has been doing the rounds on social media, purportedly even causing a pre-order cancelation. The alleged price was for a tri-motor Cybertruck model, with further costs being caused by locking in Full Self-Driving (FSD) and tax, title, and license (TTL) fees. The base price just for the vehicle alone was apparently US$98,990.
The Tesla Cybertruck price has been kept away from the public at large so far, although it was always clear that the company could never match the 2019 prices that were announced for the vehicle: US$39,990 for the base model with US$49,990 required for a dual-motor variant and US$69,900 for the tri-motor truck. While there may have been some hints from Elon Musk himself that the Cybertruck price could have been kept down, he has also been at pains to make sure everyone knew how expensive production had got over the years.
So, when a now-deleted but heavily shared Facebook post claims to be from a very early pre-order customer that details the shocking price, it’s not as unimaginable as it first sounds. The poster states that Tesla is offering two options for those who pre-ordered: A choice between the dual-motor and tri-motor models and the inclusion of FSD (at US$7,000 extra). The basic tri-motor Tesla Cybertruck price shared here is US$98,990, with this source claiming they also went with locking in FSD, which would up the price to US$105,990 before adding the thousands of dollars that make up the hefty TTL fee.
At least one reported pre-order customer has decided to cancel their reservation based on this rumor, although both the rumor and this cancellation report could be fake. However, there is some reasoning to believe that a tri-motor Tesla Cybertruck could cost well over US$90,000, especially considering the original US$69,900 price tag is now four years old and the market has fluctuated wildly since 2019. The price differences reveal a brutal +41.6% hike, which would suggest the dual-motor Cybertruck could come in at around US$70,000. All should be revealed on the Tesla Cybertruck release date of November 30.

Hmm… is the Tri-Motor Performance Cybertruck pricing set? $98,990 before FSD and the usual taxes & delivery fees… wow that’s a lot of coin. pic.twitter.com/uQyvH0NxR9
