The woman was to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon.
The Ottawa Police Service said officers were called to the hospital on Smyth Road at about 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 9. They found that gasoline had been poured inside the hospital and messages referring to the armed conflict in Israel and Gaza Strip were left nearby.
“We do not believe that this incident was hate-motivated, however it is related to the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza,” the police statement said.
Anyone with information regarding the Nov. 9 incident was asked to call the Ottawa Police Service East Division Criminal Investigations Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or online at crimestoppers.ca.
