Popular rapper Snoop Dogg has launched an NFT collection that allows his fans to virtually be part of his tour scheduled to start on July 7. Known as Passport Series, it features photos and videos of the rapper while on the tour and offers collectors a chance to access more perks in the future. Dogg believes that virtual collectibles, experiences and products are the future.
Passport NFTs are a First
Marked to retail at around $45, collectors will also benefit from free artworks released in a separate collection known as Snoop Selects that will feature collectibles from different NFT creators such as Alien Queen and Coldie.
According to the rapper, the experience offered to fans through Passport NFTs is a first in the space and adds to his involvement in the web3 world.
Chris Ostoich, the COO of Transient Labs, a company involved in developing the Passport collectibles, commented on the partnership with the rapper saying that it showcases more ways that blockchain technology can be harnessed to offer unparalleled experiences.
Dogg Isn’t a Stranger in the Web3 World
The new NFT collection comes two years after the rapper disclosed that he is the popular NFT collector known on Twitter as Cozomo de Medici. Although the collection is among his first, Dogg has been involved in promoting other NFT collections such as the Bored Ape collection. He is also the co-founder of Shiller, a web3 platform trying to merge web3 technology with live content.
While the collection offers a rare experience, it’s yet to be seen whether it will resonate with collectors.
