Hundreds remember departed loved ones with Tecumseh candle lighting

Departed loved ones were on the minds of nearly 1,000 people gathered for a holiday candlelight service of remembrance in Tecumseh on Tuesday.

Hosted by Arbor Memorial at the Ciociaro Club, the annual invitation-only event saw attendees light candles in honour of those who have died.

“We are making room for the memory of our loved ones,” said Scott Lockwood, Arbor Memorial’s general manager of community relations and development.

Planting 1,000 flags to remember, honour those who served

Arbor Memorial has held its annual holiday memorial event for the last 10 years at its nine funeral home locations throughout Windsor and Essex County, as well as its two cemeteries. The company serves roughly 2,200 families each year.

“It’s a meaningful night, with our staff being able to connect once again with the families they have served this past year to honour the memory of their loved ones,” Lockwood said.
