It was a special day for the players of the Montreal Canadiens.
The guys visited young patients at CHU Sainte-Justine, the Montreal Children’s Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children, and there were some great moments.
The Canadiens players seemed happy to be able to give back to their community:

I thought it was cool to see Kirby Dach with the team despite his injury. You can tell how important it is to him when you hear him speak in the video above.
All in all, there were a lot of smiles on the faces of the players, the kids and the medical staff:
Melissa Drover and her 16-month-old daughter, Everley, along with Dr. Helena Evangeliou were among those thrilled to see Canadiens players – including Cole Caufield, Mike Matheson, Sean Monahan and Jayden Struble – make annual Christmas visit to Montreal Children’s Hospital #Habs pic.twitter.com/0NLfcpGAU7

Anthony Martineau (TVA Sports) captured a magical moment: Rafaël Harvey-Pinard is seen chatting with a young boy, who looks at him with such pride.
It’s really hard to remain insensitive to photos like these.
It’s heartwarming, and the young man’s smile is worth all the gold in the world, as is that of the patient who met Michael Pezzetta:

Canadiens players can feel a sense of accomplishment.
It’s not much, but for the youngsters, it’s like Christmas Day has come early. Because, in the end, the visit of their great heroes gave them a great day, and that’s all that’s important.
Bravo for the initiative. And as Cole Caufield so aptly put it, after his first experience last year in Montreal hospitals…
The Canadiens should do this more often, if possible.
