According to Healthline, here are signs of heart disease you shouldn’t ignore to avoid complications.
Shortness of breath
When the heart can’t pump blood as well as it should, blood backs up in the veins that go from the lungs to the heart. Fluid leaks into the lungs and causes shortness of breath. You may notice shortness of breath: During activity, while you’re resting, and when you’re lying flat on your back — it may even wake you from sleep.
Swelling in the feet and lower leg
Many diseases of the heart cause fluid to build up in your feet and lower legs. As the fluid builds up, you may see swelling, which can extend as far as the upper legs and groin.
Chest discomfort or pain
Feelings of squeezing, tightness, pressure, or heaviness can be signals that something is wrong with your heart. People commonly describe cardiac distress as feeling like an elephant is sitting on their chest.
Discomfort in other areas of the upper body
Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
Sweating
Breaking out in a cold sweat for no obvious reason could signal a heart problem. If this happens along with any of these other symptoms, call someone, and get to a hospital right away.
