1612 GMT – Shares of Joby Aviation climbed in midday trading after the all-electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft startup held an exhibition that included its first-ever electric air taxi flight in New York City. At an event, NYC Mayor Eric Adams said the city intends to electrify the downtown heliport. Shares of Blade Air Mobility also got a boost. The company operates chartered and by-the-seat helicopter and sea plane rides, and has said it is preparing for the adoption of eVTOL aircraft.
