Arthur Hayes, the founder of BitMEX, has warned that the proposed BlackRock ETF could have a detrimental effect on Bitcoin. According to Hayes, if the ETF becomes too large, it may actually kill Bitcoin. He added that BlackRock and other entities are state agents, and Bitcoin is the antithesis of a centralized currency. Hayes also warned that these entities could increase their control over the Bitcoin network by holding and controlling mining machines. Hayes’ comments have sparked debate within the cryptocurrency community. It remains to be seen what impact BlackRock’s potential entry into the Bitcoin market could have.
