Unknown gunmen attacked the Anambra State Vigilante Service (AVS), resulting in the deaths of several members. The attack, which took place in Anambra State, targeted a security team affiliated with Governor Soludo’s security operations.
According to a source, among the victims was Ebuka Okechi, from Onichangwa, Abia State. Okechi, the only son of his parents and a single father of three having lost his wife recently is mourned as his children are left orphaned.

The assailants known as unknown gunmen targeted members of the AVS which led to multiple casualties as well as the life of Okechi.
The violence has not only taken lives but also heightened fears among the local population regarding their safety and the region’s stability.
Despite the magnitude of this tragedy, the Anambra State government has not yet issued an official response, raising concerns over the administration’s handling of public safety and transparency.
This is not the first time there have been attacks in the South East which has escalated tension and undermined peace efforts in the area.
