Cardano Unveils Technological Strides & Community Empowerment In Weekly Report

The latest Cardano weekly report highlighted significant advancements in core technology teams. The consensus team progressed in the Genesis implementation, simplifying the correctness argument and addressing functionality requests from the networking team.

 Updates To Cardano-Wallet & GHC Compatibility

The UTXO-HD implementation encountered performance issues, but the team actively investigated them while merging necessary improvements.

Support activities involved integrating the latest Ledger changes into Consensus and preparing for the upcoming node 8.2 release. The report encourages readers to refer to the technical development report for more detailed updates from various teams.

The Lace teams focused on simulating a multi-delegation wallet and testing different coin-selection algorithms. They also integrated a new cardano-js-sdk and made necessary compatibility changes for browser support.

Additionally, efforts were made to create new UI components for the multi-delegation flow and fix bugs related to the HD wallet. DApp connection improvements and integration of Posthog for analytics events were also in progress.

The Adrestia team worked on updating the Cardano-wallet to support node v.8.1.1 and GHC to 9.2.8 while enhancing the DB layer. 

The Plutus Tools team concentrated on Marconi for the sidechain, addressing discrepancies and fixing bugs. The Plutus Core team focused on optimizing builtins and improving on-chain decoding of variables.

The Marlowe teams were busy implementing various features. They added an HTTP SSE server for Marlowe transactions, implemented batching of transaction responses, and developed a random contract generator for demonstration purposes. 

The Marlowe Runtime team fixed incompatibilities, added a Status API, and improved analysis functions. The Marlowe Explorer team enhanced the transaction and contract views.

The Hydra team shared progress updates and began experimenting with a preview network featuring new external wallet commit features. 

The Mithril team completed the design of signer deployment models and worked on stress testing tools, monitoring, and retry mechanisms. They also fixed a bug related to the computation of master certificates.

In the Voltaire section, discussions continued on establishing an initial Minimum Viable Governance (MVG) framework. Workshops were held in various locations, gathering valuable feedback to ensure the governance system aligned with the community’s needs.

Project Catalyst presented the voter registration and community review processes, and several Catalyst projects showcased their impactful work. 

Technical developments in Catalyst included app store registration, hardware wallet compatibility testing, and documentation finalization. Work on snapshot importation, regression testing, and CIP revisions was also underway.

The report concludes by mentioning the completion of the beta version of continuous delivery, which is currently undergoing testing.

Overall, the Cardano ecosystem showcased significant technical advancements and governance progress, highlighting the ongoing commitment to innovation and community involvement.
