The most remarkable statistic from the report is the staggering $10.3 trillion trading volume recorded in Q4, showcasing a significant uptick from the $6.7 trillion in the previous quarter. This boost can be attributed to the growing optimism surrounding Bitcoin ETFs, marking the first quarter-on-quarter growth of the year.
Moreover, the total crypto market cap experienced a remarkable 55% increase during this quarter, jumping from $1.1 trillion to $1.6 trillion. Bitcoin played a pivotal role in this growth, soaring from $27,000 to $42,000 within the same period. Key highlights from the report include Ethereum’s rise of 90.5%, though outpaced by Bitcoin, and Solana’s meteoric ascent of 917.3% in 2023. NFT trading volume stood at $11.8 billion, accounting for 44% of 2022 figures. Solana’s resurgence in bullish narratives, such as the OPOS concept and successful airdrops, contributed to its significant climb.
Despite the challenges faced by FTX in 2022 and regulatory hurdles for Binance in 2023, centralized exchanges dominated trading volume.
